Job Vacancy: Logistics Manager

A leading manufacturer and distributor of short shelf life food products based in the West London area, our client maintains a dominant position by anticipating market trends and sustaining ongoing growth plans.

As a member of the senior management team, you will work closely with the central logistics function to formulate and implement a business unit logistics strategy to drive the business forward. Liaising with production and retail management, you will establish procedures and measures to achieve continuous service level improvements. Managing an operating budget of £3m, key areas will include material receipt and storage, despatch, transport operations and fleet management. Leading and developing your team, you will establish and maintain procedures and processes to ensure optimum service and the achievement of KPI's. You will be involved in ongoing operational developments and projects relating to a planned network expansion programme.

Professionally qualified CPC holder ideally with further logistics qualifications, your experience will have been gained within time sensitive, temperature controlled retail focused distribution. You will be fully conversant with transport issues and have a sound appreciation of the wider supply chain function including warehousing and stock control systems. Credible and enthusiastic, you will have previously motivated and managed substantial teams through a process of change whilst maintaining a positive working environment.
